Tyler Gilchrist – design researcher, design strategist and innovation planner. For close to a decade Tyler has studied and implemented ways of understanding people – why they believe what they believe, how they make sense of their world, and why they behave as they do. In this time he has worked with Gerald Zaltman, professor emeritus at Harvard, in his Boston Massachusetts research and consulting firm dedicated to accessing and understanding users’ implicit thoughts. In graduate school he studied design research, strategy, innovation and how innovation spreads. His area of focus was ‘design research for architecture’ where he explored how architects and their clients could better understand each other, and the people they design for. Tyler has designed, managed and implemented research programs across numerous industries and has developed design strategy with architecture firms, Fortune 100 brands and startups across North America and beyond.
